The Wild Coast is one of South Africa's most remote stretches of shoreline. Stretching from East London in the Eastern Cape all the way north to Port Edward and the southern border of KwaZulu-Natal, the region is home to some of the most beautiful coastal scenery in the world.
South Africa's Wild Coast region is known for its unspoilt beauty, rolling green hills and pristine beaches. Now the area is getting a tourism boost from its ultimate attraction - the name of Nelson Mandela, the Eastern Cape's favourite son.
South Africa is to have another national park, in Pondoland on the Wild Coast of the Eastern Cape. Instead of the usual Big Five drawcard, the park will offer a combination of beaches, marine and estuarine escapes and African cultural heritage, in addition to wildlife.
