While Nelson Mandela's life sentence was handed down in the 1964 Rivonia Trial, his first conviction was on 7 November 1962 - a lesser known but important trial which will form the subject of an exhibit when the repurposed Nelson Mandela Foundation building launches as a public facility in mid-2013.
