SA prawn technology for China
South African empowerment company Sea Ark Africa has signed an agreement with China Direct to provide it with advanced mariculture technology and remotely manage giant prawn farms in the Chinese city of Zhanjiang.
R9bn prawn hatchery for Coega
Port Elizabeth-based empowerment firm Sea Ark Africa is to invest R9.2-billion in a high-tech prawn farming facility in the Eastern Cape. The 1 200 hectare plant is expected to reach full capacity by 2014 and employ up to 11 000 people.
