The planned R4.2-billion liquid-fuels pipeline linking Mozambique and South Africa should be completed by the end of 2009, says public-private pipeline consortium Petroline.
South African company Petroline RSA and its Mozambican partner have been awarded a licence to build a R4-billion liquid petroleum pipeline between the two countries, scheduled for completion by the end of 2009.
South Africa moved another step closer to diversifying its energy sources when synfuels producer Sasol opened an 865km natural gas pipeline from Mozambique. A new power plant commissioned by the government may go the way of natural gas too.
