State-owned petroleum and gas company PetroSA has appointed US firm KBR as the engineering contractor for its planned US$11-billion, 400 000 barrel-a-day crude oil refinery at Coega outside Port Elizabeth.
State oil and gas company PetroSA has been granted a manufacturing licence for its planned US$11-billion (about R101.4-billion), 400 000 barrel-per-day oil refinery at Coega in the Eastern Cape.
State-owned PetroSA has increased the capacity of its planned crude refinery at the Coega Industrial Zone near Port Elizabeth from 250 000 to 400 000 barrels per day, with the plant now costing US$11-billion, further reducing the need for imported fuel products when it is commissioned by 2014.
