BRICS countries met on the sidelines of the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Brisbane, where they agreed to set up an interim board of directors to lead the next phase of establishing the National Development Bank.

The issue of infrastructure development received a lot of attention during the recent G20 Leaders’ Summit in Brisbane, Australia, and the establishment of a Global Infrastructure Hub will accelerate infrastructure investment, particularly in Africa, according to Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene.

The G20 Leaders’ Summit taking place in Australia from 15 to 16 November will focus on finding ways to lift member economies out of the current economic doldrums. South Africa will also use the BRICS meeting on the sidelines of the summit to discuss issues of concern to South Africa and the rest of Africa.
