JOHANNESBURG, October 14 2013 – Brand South Africa will later today celebrate international media personality Oprah Winfrey’s inspiring philanthropy, the world over and particularly in South Africa, by awarding her with a Play Your Part certificate of appreciation.
The certificate honours Oprah’s efforts for playing her part to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of thousands of people, the world over, particularly through education.
Speaking ahead of the event, Brand South Africa CEO Miller Matola said, “Oprah’s efforts directly speak to the Millennium Development Goals around which the world unites to ensure a better quality of life for all.”
“Generations of now and the future deserve healthy and fulfilled lives. We all need to play our part in working together so our children have the nutrition, education and skills that will ensure their lives are productive and meaningful.
