Africa Centre Airport Leisure Hotel


The Africa Centre Airport Leisure Hotel is also attached to the Africa Centre Guest Lodge and Africa Centre Safari Tours. Located close to OR Tambo International Airport, it can be accessed by free shuttle.

The hotel offers business facilities and professional secretarial services among a host of other services. It has two conference rooms for small conferences. Both rooms are equipped with white board, flip charts, digital/overhead projectors, and TV, video and DVD equipment.

Amakoekoe Guest House/Lodge


Located in Honeydew, Amakoekoe features beautifully maintained gardens and lively birdlife, which make for a convenient and peaceful conference venue.

There are three conference rooms, the largest of which is capable of hosting up to 100 delegates. Basic equipment, including a whiteboard, flipchart and screen is provided, along with catering that includes, apart from the main meals, tea and coffee on arrival, mid-morning and afternoon tea, and snacks and pastries.

A shuttle service is available from the OR Tambo and Lanseria airports, as well as to outside venues.

Astrotech Conference Centre


Located in Parktown, and easily accessible from Johannesburg’s airports, major highways, and the city centre, the Astrotech Conference Centre is to found in a gracious mansion. It is able to host up to 300 people.

It offers state-of-the-art conference equipment, including data projectors, electronic screens, video recording facilities, television, video, DSTV and DVD.

The facilities also feature laptop connectivity; five-star meals that accomodate dietary preferences; secure parking; 24-hour security; a business centre for photocopying, Internet and telephones; a bar for after work cocktails; and indoor and outdoor relaxation areas.

Bergvallei Estates


Bergvallei Estates in Muldersdrift, north of Johannesburg, caters for conferences of up to 100 people and also hosts weddings and functions.

Catering is provided and the venue can sleep up to 19 people.

Numerous leisure activities are available, including hot air ballooning, swimming, hiking, horse riding, golf, game drives and trout fishing, and there is also an art gallery.

Cabanga Conference Centre


The Cabanga Conference Centre, situated just behind the Northgate Shopping Centre and the Coca Cola Dome in Northriding, caters for groups as large as 300 people and provides, among other things, for business breakfasts, weddings and engagement parties, birthday bashes, cocktail parties, Christmas and year-end functions.

There are seven rooms available, as well as breakaway areas.

Menus with a wide variety of themes are available, including those requiring halaal and kosher food.

Cedar Park Hotel & Conference Centre


Cedar Park, in Woodmead, Sandton, has two conference halls hosting 350 people and up to 900 for cocktail receptions, while smaller conference rooms can host parties of 20, 40 or 100 delegates.

There are extensive catering facilities, and the hotel has 55 rooms and 10 junior suites.

Eagles Crest Conference and Function Centre


Eagles Crest Conference and Function Centre is located in Muldersdrift within the beautiful Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site. It caters for conferences, weddings, and various other functions.

Conferences for from 10 to 60 people are catered for, although larger groups can be accommodated. Standard equipment includes a data projector, PA system, amplifier and surround sound, pull down screen and flip chart stand.

Conference packages include morning and afternoon tea, lunch, water and sweets on the tables, flip chart paper and markers, and pens and paper.

Emperor’s Palace


Emperor’s Palace, located next to the OR Tambo International Airport, is a versatile venue able to deal with large conferences.

The Centre Court can accommodate 3 000 people cinema-style, while the Circus Maximus caters for 900 people with theatre-style seating. The North Wing accommodates 1 200 people banquet-style, the South Wing 400 delegates in theatre style, and the Senate Rooms approximately 400 people per room.

Besides these venues ,there are also breakaway rooms for think-tanks and planning sessions.

Focus Rooms


Situated in Sunninghill, just off Rivonia road, Focus Rooms has 10 rooms ranging from minimum 4 people to maximum 300 cinema style and includes an executive Boardroom for business meetings.

The decor is fresh with bright coloured walls and modern interiors and certain rooms have stunning views of Sunninghill. Each conference room has state of the art audio visual technology and wireless connectivity with an onsite IT professional. There are two Conference co-ordinators on site and an operations manager to ensure that conferences runs smoothly from start to finish. Parking is free with 24-hour security.

Other services include training, launches, end of year functions, team building, gala events and exhibitions.

Garden Lodge & Conference Centre


The Garden Lodge and Conference Centre, situated close to the Cradle of Humankind in the Swartkops hills near Muldersdrift, and a 35-minute drive from Johannesburg or Pretoria, has three fully equipped conference rooms seating 80, 30 and 15 people. There are also four breakaway rooms.

The hotel can also arrange team-building activities such as fondue and potjie competitions, English pub games, a mini obstacle course, go-kart racing, game drives, golf and hot air ballooning.

Griffin Estate


Griffin’s Estate is a smaller-sized venue located on the West Rand, close to Randfontein and Krugersdorp. It’s a beautiful venue with a lovely country setting.

The air-conditioned conference venue accommodates up to 60 delegates and standard audi-visual and technical equipment is provided. Full-day packages include tea, coffee and muffins; mid-morning tea, coffee, biscuits, and snack platters; a buffet lunch; mid-afternoon tea, coffee and biscuits; mineral waters and mints.

The Estate also hosts weddings and other functions.

The Hertford Hotel


The four-star Hertford Country Hotel, on the Pelindaba Road, Lanseria, is set on a 23-hectare estate. It features four conference venues and can host from 30 to 200 delegates.

Early-morning, mid-morning, and afternoon tea and a three-course lunch are provided along with standard equipment.

Conferences are tailor-made to suit requirements and the Hertford offers a list of professional service providers who will ensure a memomorable event.

It’s also a great venue for weddings and features 21 large en-suite rooms and two honeymoon suites.

Houghton Boardroom


Formerly a private home, the Houghton Boardroom is centrally located in the Houghton Estate. It was built in 1935 as a Cape Dutch homestead.

The venue offers three conference-style options: boardroom, stables and boma.

It can accommodate from 80 to 100 people in its beautiful gardens for reception parties, and up to 40 people for formal dinners.

Tsogo Sun InterContinental Johannesburg Sandton Towers


The Meeting Place at the Tsogo Sun InterContinental Johannesburg Sandton Towers offers facilities catering for groups from 10 to 800 delegates, and advanced technology capabilities are available. There is also an in-house meeting co-ordinator.

Besides this, the hotel is linked to the Sandton Convention Centre, which is able to host up to 3 500 delegates as well as special events for 4 000 seated guests.

Michelangelo Hotel


The Samsung Business Centre in the Michelangelo Hotel, located on Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton, hosts up to 242 people.

The conference facilities accommodate up to 150 people theatre-style and 160 banquet-style.

The hotel also provides a number of leisure options, including a gym, wine tasting, beauty therapy and a hydro/spa.

Mintek Conference Services


Conveniently located in Randburg, Mintek Conference Services offers four conference rooms, including an impressive 400-seat auditorium.

There is also a reception area, foyer and exhibition area.

Parking is no problem and catering and equipment is supplied.

Although Mintek Conference Services do not offer accommodation there are many choices very near by.

OR Tambo International Airport Conference Centre


Located on the Mezzanine Level of the Domestic Arrivals Terminal is a 10-room conference facility catering to roups ranging from very small to up to 150 delegates.

Equipment is supplied, and for those travelling to the airport by car, free and secure parking is offered.

SAB World of Beer


Located in the vibrant area of Newtown, in the centre of Johannesburg, the SAB World of Beer was built to celebrate the brewer’s centenary in 1995.

It offers two conference venues and is able to accommodate up to 150 people in The Gallery.

In-house caterers serve a wide variety of meals and standard equipment is supplied.

Conference packages include a tour of the history of beer that finishes in The Nonesuch Tavern with two complimentary drinks and snacks.

The Sheiks Club and Conference Centre


The Sheiks Club and Conference Centre is located in Woodmead, Johannesburg. It is a versatile venue, available for all forms of business get-togethers and private functions.

There are five conference venues, able to accommodate from 20 to 900 people.

The Forum

The Campus is located in Bryanston in Johannesburg and is a five-star-graded Association of South African Travel Agents conference venue and features state-of-the-art technology, as well impressive South African art and architecture.

The Turbine Hall is home to Johannesburg’s first coal-fired power station and is also a top quality conference and events venue boasting the same high standards as The Campus. It is located in funky Newtown, home to many cultural attractions and landmarks.

Catering services include corporate and private catering, as well as fresh office restaurants.

The Newlife Conference Centre


Located in Bryanston, the Newlife Conference Centre is a large multi-faceted facility with many modern conveniences. It is easily accessible from the N1 Highway, going east and west, and nicely situated near shopping centres, restaurants, coffee shops, hotels, and B&Bs. There is plenty of parrking.

The Main Auditorium seats 1 380 people on the ground floor and an additional 1158 in the galleries providing for 2538 seats in total. The Minor Auditorium is also a sizable venue, able to accomodate 750 people seated cinema style, while the North Wing can host up to 150 people, and the East and West Wings can accomodate up to 112 conference-goers.

All of the venues offer the facilities needed to enable speakers to give dynamic presentations. Each room has a digital projector and screen, a modern multichannel sound system, as well as a DVD player and a computer with a LCD monitor.

Catering, incorporating light refreshments and finger food is also on offer. The New Life Centre is also available for larger functions and gala dinners.

The Palazzo Montecasino


This upmarket Tuscan Villa-themed hotel in Fourways, Sandton has two presidential suites, 10 suites, 21 deluxe rooms and 213 standard rooms.

For conferences, the “Soare Room” accommodates 34 delegates theatre-style, while the “Castello Room” hosts 35 people theatre-style, 60 for receptions and 50 banquet-style.

For larger groups, three luxury N-Metro cinemas are available, able to host up to 500 people.

The Fairlawns, in Sandton, has two conference venues: the La Scala Room, which accommodates 42 people schoolroom-style, and The Boardroom, which is more intimate and hosts 12 people.
