Bankserv targets African expansion

Johannesburg-based Bankserv, Africa’s largest automated clearing house, has rebranded itself as BankservAfrica – a name change to reflect extended products and services, and an expansion into Africa.

Last year, BankservAfrica was responsible for switching, clearing and settling 2.5-billion transactions worth a massive R8-trillion.

“The name change reflects the strategic positioning of BankservAfrica towards becoming a leading provider of these services in Africa,” BankservAfrica CEO Pieter Cilliers said in a recent statement.

“Our rebranding also reflects our continued innovation and simplification of the very complex payments industry.”

New business model

Through the provision of technologies and services to the financial services sector, BankservAfrica has established its reputation as a provider of high-quality services and products that support their clients’ business requirements.

“Working from the same foundation that has served our core client base since our inception in 1972, BankservAfrica is renewing its energy, adopting a modern approach to business and creating a vibrant new logo,” said BankservAfrica marketing head Michael Rubenstein, adding that it formed part of the company’s new business model, branding and vision.

Vast growth opportunities

Cilliers tips the African continent for vast growth in the immediate future: “Our goal of further strengthening our core business offerings and expanding our reach into Africa and beyond will both benefit our existing client base and enable new clients and countries to leverage our experience and wide range of solutions.
