Investment mission to the USA
South Africa is seeking more investments from the United States. The
Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Mandisi Mpahlwa, is leading an
investment promotion mission to the East Coast in the next two weeks
(17-23 March 2007). It is the first time the Minister has led such a
delegation to the US.
The public-private sector mission will visit New York, Chicago and
Detroit to promote investment in the BPO, ICT, biotechnology,
automotive and financial services sectors.

Wear the white ribbon and ‘Act against Abuse’. That’s the call of this year’s 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children campaign. Starting on 25 November (which is International Day of No Violence against Women), the campaign will be supported across the world until it ends on 10 December (International Human Rights Day).
Says Margaret Dingalo, stakeholder relations director for the International Marketing Council (IMC) of South Africa: “The call to action in these 16 days is vital, as abuse against women and children is unacceptably high in South Africa, despite our world-renowned constitution and strong legal emphasis on the rights of women.”

The International Marketing Council (IMC) of South Africa was named
Investment Promotion Agency of the Year at the Africa Investor Awards,
which have just taken place in Nairobi, Kenya.
This is the second year running that the IMC has scooped this award at
Africa’s Business Oscars, in recognition of its excellent work in
promoting South Africa as open for business.
Accepting the award, Margaret Dingalo, Director of Stakeholder
Relations at the IMC, said that it was proof that “the new South Africa
works.”
