The 20th Precision Flying World Championships, which took place in North West province from 23 to 29 October 2011, saw 14 teams from around the world taking to the skies to prove how accurately and safely they can handle aircraft without the aid of modern technology. South Africa came second in the team landing category, with squad member Hans Schwebel being the runner-up for the landing trophy.
The 2011 Brand Africa Forum, held on 29 September in Johannesburg, saw an impressive range of pan-African, disaporan and global thought leaders, influencers and decision-makers coming together to debate how Africa can drive its growth, reputation and competitiveness. The event was sponsored by Brand South Africa and the Brand Leadership Academy.
The 20th Precision Flying World Championships were launched in Brits, North West province, on 23 October 2011. Over the course of the next week 14 teams from around the world, including South Africa, will cover miles of unforgiving terrain to prove their worth when it comes to accurate flying, precise navigation, vigilant observation and inch-perfect landings. The winning team will be announced on 29 October
